South Derbyshire: Help protect your street with our new burglary alert pilot by becoming a Co-ordinator

Could your street, area or village benefit from local burglary alerts?

As part of our Darker Nights campaign, Derbyshire Neighbourhood Watch is launching an exciting new burglary alerts pilot across South Derbyshire, helping communities stay informed and work together to reduce opportunities for crime.

The idea is simple. When suitable burglary incidents are identified, registered Neighbourhood Watch Coordinators participating in the pilot will receive a text alert containing information they can share with their local community.
 

That information can then be passed on through an existing WhatsApp group, Facebook group, email or whatever works best for your neighbours.

But here's where we need your help.

These pilot alerts will only be sent directly to registered Neighbourhood Watch Coordinators, so we'd love to encourage more people across South Derbyshire to set up a Watch in their street or neighbourhood.

You don't need to organise meetings or take on a huge commitment. Being a Coordinator can be as simple as helping neighbours stay connected and passing on useful local safety information.
